I know a few cachers who like to do whilst going for a run. That's not quite for me though, I am happy to walk forever, but it's not often anyone sees me break in to a run, or even a jog for that matter
For yourself, other new members, and everyone else, it would be really great if you could spare a moment to note a few nominations for our Cotswold Geocache of the Year. It will not be too long now before we short list them for voting on, and the list is quite short at present.

Welcome 6teasureseekers to Cotswold Caching Happy you joined up with us.
I did try to join in wessex when I learnt of it recently, but it looks that the admin has to activate you there, and that still has not happened yet for me. Plus sadly there seems there are no recent posts.
I'm hoping to start Geocaching in the New Year. I am working towards my Queen's Guide Award and need to develop a new hobby and Geocaching really appeals to me.
I live in Bristol, but looking to geocache around the southwest. Anyone know of any pages/forums for Bristol/Somerset/Devon area.
Also, I need a mentor who would be able to sign me off and assess me to prove that I have met my goals and have developed in my skill.
A warm welcome to our Cotswold Caching group. I hadn't heard of the Queen's Guide Award before actually, and so I just looked it up. Just so other members here know, can you have anyone mentor and sign you off, or do they have to work with the Guides? I do know some Geocachers in Cirencester who do work with the Guides.
I am unsure of any other very active groups for the area that you are looking at more. That is one of the reasons I started up this one. But feel free to check out THIS PAGE which lists some local groups.
I assume that the Guides awards are the same as Scouting and the Duke of Edinburgh award. In which case anybody can sign off the individual elements.
As a Scout leader I sign off quite a few 'service' elements, all it takes is to be able to verify what had been done and be able to write a couple of sentences describing what was done.
My name is Gareth (aka Milkybow) and I've been caching for 3 years now. I started when I went for a bike ride with a friend of mine and found a few caches. To start with I thought 'What's this all about' right up to the time we couldn't find one (one of Wrighty's 'Another Bloomin Hill' series) and that was it..I was hooked! It was so frustrating not to find it and it bugged me. I went home, registered, re read the hints and went back several times until I found it.
Being a 'suit' I find geocaching a great way of getting out and about with the family; happy days indeed. The places caching takes us and the things we've learned about places is a real eye opener; such great countryside right on our doorsteps. I found a nature reserve at Beckford yesterday which I never knew existed..
Being taken to new exciting and interesting places I didn't know about is a big part of what Geocaching is for me too. Here's to the new year and hopefully being taken to some more great spots
