Re-visiting caches GC2GAKA Below Above- The White Bird and GC2GAMT Below Above- The Fallen Monarch.
Some caches are worth visiting more than once. I have visited these two more than once. If you are interested in having a go at these two, but are not confident to do alone or maybe are stuck for transport, then I would be happy to accompany you / your team this day. If xJammmzy is with me like he usually is for these types, then I will have three car seats free to chauffeur if needed.
An odd time of year? No. In fact it will probably be warmer inside underground than it will be outside. It's also a year since I first did the White Bird and got hooked on that sort of adventure.
GC2GAKA Below Above- The White Bird is an excellent underground starter cache. Although there are very real dangers, as long as you don't mind getting a bit dirty and are not afraid of the dark, and are reasonably fit, this cache should be doable by those who attempt it.
GC2GAMT Below Above- The Fallen Monarch is quite a step up, requiring a bit more agility, and has a couple of nervy moments. You are also underground for more time.
If you would be interested in doing one or both of these, for the first time or a re-visit, on this day with me then please let me know here.
Happy to go in to accompany anyone who wants a go at Multi 1 too. I believe that one has had a change since I did, and I guess you too then if you were looking for FTF. The markers are UV now.
Yes, done Lasciate with xJammmzy. Couldn't have done without Digdug though. Very challenging indeed. Well done to you for completing it too! Earnanæs, þæs wyrmes denn is next, and soon I hope. Waiting for Electric Sparrow to be available to help moi on that one.. and a lot of help I think I will need.
I think I'll stick to the couple of Bareclawz' caches for a beginners trip though.

Now Earnanæs, þæs wyrmes denn looks another very challenging cache and would love to have a look to see if I would chicken out or just go for it
On Friday night after a different underground cache attempt, xJammmzy and I took a little wander around the vicinity of GC2GAKA. We took a number of photos, but I didn't know xJ took this video of me. If it looks like I was unstable and moving awkwardly, well I was. Suffering quite a bit from where we had just been prior.
It's quite a dark video... well you never would of guessed it would be, no? ;D I know, but it is a touch darker than it could be as one of my lights got smashed climbing out of another hole earlier. But for anyone thinking about coming along with us to the revisits, or thinking of doing on their own, it gives a little insight of what to expect.
Thanks for posting - I was doing a bit of research around that area prior to attempting any of these ones and found an interesting vid called Grahams grovel in Browns folly not sure at the moment if there is a cache up there or not as not worked out the riddles yet.
Also would need to get some overalls and knee pads maybe!
Thanks for that link, I don't think I've seen that video before. As far as I know, there is no cache at present in that particular part of Browns, but there are a lot of puzzle caches around there that I haven't worked out yet.
For GC2GAKA you will not need knee pads. Just old clothes and a hard hat of some sort. Many people use bike helmets. And a torch obviously.
For GC2GAMT knee pads would help, there is some crawling, but nothing as bad as in the video you posted.
Just under three weeks to we will head back to these caches. Getting all excited!
The plan is:
xJammmzy and I will arrive at the parking of GC2GAKA for 2pm on Saturday 5th January.
We'll kit up and visit GC2GAKA. This will be about 20 minutes underground. We will dip / swap any TBs we may be carrying.
After emerging we will immediately visit GC2GAMT. This will be about an hour underground. I will be dipping the Village of the damned TOP CACHE geocoin to mark my revisit to this cache, and it will be available to discover if anyone joins us. The revisits will also be used for photography.
After emerging from that one we'll have a quick clean up and a drink in the nearby pub, then either go on to look for a few easier caches in the area before heading home, or look for a few more holes to poke our heads into, depending on if anyone has joined us for the trip and what their preferences are of what they want to do.
~
This is not an official event, just an organised bit of fun. I am not really expecting anyone else to join in with this, but I would be more than happy if anyone wants to. I will have three spaces in the car if anyone does and would like a lift, and I would be happy to pick people up as long as the distance is within reason.
White Bird is currently very easy to enter now, yes
I re-visited the Multi 1 cache with another cacher on a non-caching trip in September. I did not do the route as it was written, we just went straight to the cache. That does not mean I would be able to go straight to the cache again, the person we were with knew every inch of that area very well.
I wouldn't mind going in there again. Will need to re-work out the cache route again to compare to my old workings. According to another site I visit, there are though currently some not very nice problems going on in that mine, which I won't discuss on here, but it shouldn't spoil the adventure as long as one is careful.
It would be great to have others join us Let me know a bit closer to the day if you're still up for it, and if you can get yourself there. If you need to know where 'there' is, then just ask.
There's not a lot of parking space where the cache page suggests, but the pub should be fine with us parking in their car park as long as we give them a little business.
walk tall, I don't know how much the Multi 1 text has changed since you first looked at it. But I have re-decoded half of it this evening, and the start point is actually the same place as where I started from when I found it. However, the route text is different in places to the text I followed. In some ways it is actually easier, but in some ways not ;D The not... (and this shouldn't really give major spoilers) is that the things you have to look for with uv light are possibly hard to find. When I visited the cache a couple of months ago we couldn't find what we were supposed to under uv. we still found the cache though.
I tried to get FTF on the cache but had equipment failure
The entrance was through a small unlocked bar 'gate' that you moved a stone out of the way to open the 'gate'. If I remember correctly, it was best to go in feet first
I've just had a quick scan through all logs. The entrance has definitely changed since you tried. It is now in a different place, and there is no gate, but you will get muddy... though there is a chance you won't, due to some of the current goings on. I believe it may currently be easier, like 'White Bird' currently is. *keeping an eye on it*
