Any one else notice this email update from GS, no more new Challenge Caches can be created for a year
Pause on New Challenge Caches
Challenge caches allow geocache owners to create “challenges” you have to accomplish before you can log a specific geocache, like meeting the challenge of finding a geocache on every day of the year. They’re fun. But as challenge caches have grown in the geocaching community over the last decade, they’ve also often caused confusion and are difficult to wrangle for community volunteer reviewers.
That’s why, effective April 21, 2015, we’re pausing accepting any submissions for new challenge caches for one year. You’ll still be able to play and enjoy the thousands of challenge caches already active around the world.
Want to help define the future of challenge caches? Read more here and help guide the questions on a worldwide survey on challenge caches you’ll find in your Weekly Newsletter in the coming months.

I got the email after the time and date of stopping them which is a bit mean. I had one sat waiting for review too. Seemed it got ignored until then and a email from the reviewer saying no sorry, too late.

Note: The moratorium does not apply to challenge cache submissions that were enabled for review as of 12:00pm (19:00 GMT) on April 21, 2015 and met all geocaching guidelines at that time.
Or did you submit it after this time but before you saw the email

I had the cache ready sat and was going to send for review when I had completed the requirements of the challenge myself. I sent for review as soon as that email came through, hoping to get it in but the email came through after the time limit and I didn't know anything about the block until the geocaching email. I dunno if it was released anywhere else beforehand though (FB or forums or something)
Well, I had a little idea and with it as I'm working on my own Whereigo(s) why not have one that is a puzzle and without the reviewer unable to find out unless they do it, a WhereIgo that depending on a choice in the am, gives you a choice in which book you go for to sign.

You still have to show the final co-ordinates for the physical box to the reviewer, even for a Wherigo.
Chosen Mission - is a set of Puzzle caches with just one Wherigo cartridge and depending on your actions, you may not find all the physical Puzzle cache boxes

Someone has just shown me the summer souvenir things they are doing. One of the things quoted to me from the reviewer is that challenge caches are a bit of a no no because they change a cachers habits and they shouldn't have to do this. Surely to gain a souvenir by doing a specific type of cache on a specific date is changing a cachers habits....? Am I wrong?
