Located in the Cotswold village of Alderton at N 52° 00.000 W 002° 00.000 is a secondary degree of confluence as defined by the Degree Confluence Project. More information can be found about the subject on their website.
This task is simple to complete. Visit this degree of confluence and take a photo to prove you visited and post it in your log. Ideally that will be a picture of your GPSr at the location showing the displayed coordinates. Other photos which would prove you visited could either be of yourself at the location, or of a travel bug in your possession at the time.
There will be a little prize of a Cotswold Degree Of Confluence Pen (a pen with "Cotswold Degree Of Confluence" printed on it, before you get too excited) awarded to the first person to log their visit.
Oh! I did not know of that challenge. And I am not one to completely poo poo challenges, I have done a few. I never noticed this one when it published though.
The geocaching challenges are indeed now gone, and so I couldn't log a complete on that. I was quite content with logging the visit here though. We (Big T Little C and myself) had a nice slow quiet drive out to here. Did a couple of easy caches whilst this way too, but this was the main reason for coming out here.
As an opposite to walk tall's log, I had a bit of problem on the way back from here with my car, the engine warning light came on and the car started using up fuel rapidly probably an expensive fix, but I'll worry about that tomorrow. On the plus side got to see all those magic zeros on the GPSr. Met a lady walking her dog who was quite interested in what we were doing. I think she thought we were a bit crazy. I guess we are

I am no mechanic, so thank you for the nod in the possible direction to look at. I have actually had this twice before, both other times were on very long journeys. The light cleared itself and the fuel economy went back to normal after filling up with petrol not from Tesco.. I wondered if it was their fuel. It hasn't cleared this time. But before I look at the sensor, your suggestion has has made me have another thought. When I had the car serviced last, they did everything bar the air filter, as I knew I could do that bit easily. But did I actually do that bit afterwards, have a guess? I will try that first. Thank you again muchly
I just looked up the coords to see where they were, but I should of guessed given your caching excursion the other day Definitely one to do one day. I have never been to that part of the city.
Well when you get round to it get off the tube one stop early and do This one
Now that one appeals to me. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
I do not have any plans to head that way in the near future, however will probably spend a few hours in London on route to Brussels at the end of the year, so it's marked for then. Thanks
Slightly related to this one, I picked up a TerraCaching Virtual yesterday The 52°N / 1°W Confluence Cache First to log as well There's something about all those zeros that are magnetic (attempt at a pun there that didn't quite work).
There are a couple of other newish Confluence caches on TC right now too, but our one is not one of them, yet. The challenge is still currently unique to us.. and the Degree Confluence project of course.

The challenge for that particular confluence in this particular forum, sure. Though that same confluence could be used to log this LC challenge, if you wished!
