I've read about the housing in your area, and the village hall. CDC's decisions and management are shocking. I've read about another nearby village where planning permission was given for building works, but then materials used were allowed to be changed after granted so they now have an unsightly structure built. All I can do is keep doing my bit. The Save Our Cirencester group were in the Standard again this week.
I haven't done any major caching this week, but did get to the Lydford Locators event for 15mins last weekend. And today I took one photo which I should be able to log a TC Locationless with.
The photo in question was not the one below, however this one was one of my more favourite of this morning

Yesterday - a nice family circular walk from Nailsworth to Woodchester, taking in a section of the Nailsworth to Stroud cycle path along the old railway line before returning along the other side of the valley. 5 finds and 2 DNFs, although the DNFs weren't entirely surprising, given those caches haven;t been found since mid-2015 and are in a series by a CO who's not maintaining them & hasn't been on the website since 2012.
Today was very nearly the worse day of my geocaching career. Imagine a 140 mile round trip plus 1.5 mile walk for a 5* difficulty cache only found twice before and arriving at the GZ to find a combination lock that you've totally forgotten to bring the required code for.GC5YZBQ
Nailed it! Tracy took me there for my birthday. Loved the Star Wars scenes, the pic in the previous post was just one of many. Most of the figures throughout the whole museum were so perferct, Marie Tussaud and the artists since her have exceptional skills. My favourite of all of the wax works though was not one of the Star Wars ones, but of Amy Winehouse, someone who drapes my desktop wallpaper at work for a few days when I have have been downing way to many to try and remind me to cut back.
The pic below, whilst I may look like shite, I had been clean for just over a week. I think even sparklefingers can vouch that I had a mug of cream topped hot choc at the Lydford Locators event. Sadly lapsed again since. Kudos to pigdogboyandgirls
Sadly I haven't cached since. I logged the one TC LC with the photo I took of a Tardis. Since then I have been deeply into work. I have "found" a newish cache near the KFC in the part of Ciren I work, when popping out at lunch for a bite, but haven't signed the log yet, so not logged. And that is it.
It's great to get out walking with the family isn't Yorkshire Yellow Other than with one of my sons for some extreme caching/cache revisiting, I do very little with my family. Unfortunately the rest of them do not like to walk the amount I do. I hope you had a great time, even though the couple of DNFs.
I feel for you WindpumpBoy , well done for managing to piece it together in the field and getting that find!

Yeah, I love family walks, even more so when the kids and Mrs YY join in the caching along the way. Although the kids are only 4 & 8 they can cover a decent distance. From memory their longest so far is just over 9 miles, last summer on a caching circuit with a National Trust just over halfway. The younger one, Annie, has asked 'to climb a big big mountain', so Snowdon it is, assuming the weather is okay, when we're in that part of the world on our Easter break.
I'm trying to get that work/life/time to play balance right. last couple of weeks we've worked hard at some of the things needing doing over the weekend and then gone out to play a bit on the Monday. Plans for that got scuppered this week though with the wind causing a bit of a nuisance by blowing over a couple of trees in the mother in laws garden. I've spent the last couple of days with chainsaw and axe creating firewood. Hope to get out next weekend.
Also have plans to take Mrs WPB away for Valentines for a romantic night at the Holiday Inn in Colchester. The fact that I've got a few puzzle caches solved in the area has nothing to do with the decision
