"First to Find" Photo Contest
The theme of this contest is "First to Find". This could be a photo of yourself or a caching friend being the first to find of a cache, or of the location, a hidden view, secret things, or a great Geocaching hidey hole. Maybe you have not been lucky enough to get a first to find on a cache yet, but took a great photo whilst on your quest to hunt one down.
Have fun and let your imagination run amok! Post your photos here (up to three each), along with a little detail about them, including either the related cache name, cache link, or code.
The contest will run from today 25th June, and throughout the month of July. At the beginning of August, Morgan C. Talbot, author of the Caching Out Series book First to Find, will pick her favourite photo and the member who submitted it will receive a signed copy of her book.
"Death is the hardest puzzle to solve."
Margarita Williams escaped death at a young age, but its shadow has followed her all her life. Now, amidst the chaos of a new Australian roommate and mysterious, menacing neighbors, Death has set the puzzlemaker a puzzle of her own. Someone is killing her fellow geocachers, one by one.
Bindi Ryan left Australia to marry a man who abandoned her the minute her plane landed in Oregon. When thieves steal a local sculpture and a teenage friend is blamed, Bindi and her super-nose must prove him innocent and find the real culprits. But are she and Margarita working on two mysteries, or one?
If they can't solve the final puzzle, the killer will strike one final, deadly blow.
Rules.
Many of you know I do not like having rules, especially long winded complicated ones. But because there is a genuine physical prize up for grabs here, and to keep the contest fair, I have set out the following:
1. The subject of the photo contest is "First to Find". The theme is open to interpretation but must be related to Geocaching.
2. Entries can have been taken at any time, they do not have to been taken on or after the start date of this contest.
3. Entrants can submit up to three photos each.
4. The contest is open to Cotswold Caching members only, and any new member who may sign up before the contest completion.
5. All entries are to be posted on this thread via an upload to this site, or displayed via a link to another site hosted on, for example at geocaching.com or a photo hosting site like photobucket.com.
6. The contest closes at midnight on July 31st.
7. Morgan C. Talbot will select her favourite photo at the beginning of August*, and her decision is final.
8. All entries must be the original work of the entrant.
*time and date not set in stone, will be dependant on Morgan's schedule.
A big thank you to Morgan for signing a copy of her book for the prize, for giving her time to select her favourite entry, and for her contest idea suggestions.
I just wanted to mention as well which I didn't in the draft copy of this, that I may post up some photos of my own over the next month or so, but any such ones will only be for examples or fun, mine will not be included in the contest.
Have fun everyone!
