I am hoping for a 10am at start at the latest. Please can anyone who is interested let me know in the next couple of days so that I have a head count, and can split people in to groups when and where necessary. If you only want to do part of the day / some of the caches, please let me know that too.
Will start with new The Ugly Duckling, then Fallen Monarch, then on to others being either the Don't Drink The Water and A Tour In Brown's, or a big one in Box.. maybe both if time allows.
If would of liked to join up on this one but are unable to, please let some dates below so other caching trips can be organised either by myself, or anyone else who might like to group together.
Good luck on Wednesday to grab as many as you can. If you do Fallen Monarch it's worth taking the decipher of Mega Breakfast with you and taking a detour to collect the clue there. In Brown's there are 6 but well spread out and a couple of detours from the old Multi 1 route are needed. I've passed on to Gackt the general locations of the 3 clues in Box and they are on the route for Gruidae. If the team collect and note any Mega Breakfast clues it will be ok to save them for 5th October, but not for general discussion please.
It was a great day out! We didn't do everything I planned to do that day, and so there is whole lot of caching to still on the next trip.. let the Oct 5th plans commence
I think we would of squeezed in the second earth cache if we hadn't indulged Lord Maythorn a walk to the end of FDS tunnel and back to see how far it was I can't believe I have done that twice now Anyway, it was good exercise lol. Everyone was a bit weary after that so retired to the Quarryman's for a pint a black rat before heading out doing just a little more caching.
This is the full team which did the first couple of caches, taken on sly's camera by one of badchap's team. Having a quick game of Acrobats
Well done to all those that took part. I have seen the logs and myself and JestersMagpie are very impressed and pleased. He adds that the hard work of restoring the BA series has now shown to be well worth it.

It looks like you had a great time - I wish I could have been in on it.

I see JestersMagpie has signed up here yesterday, so hi there to you Really pleased with the work you have put in to get the caches ready, thank you, and look forward to doing more as soon as I can.
I didn't take any photo's myself this time, but have been forwarded quite a few by sly and Rosie, and so will post a few more on here as soon as I get the chance, if they don't before I do. Whilst everyone likes to put a lot of photos on the pages of these sort of caches, I think it's good to keep them to a minimum for a while at least until other people have attempted the cache so as not to spoil the experience for others.
I sent a note, and mentioned briefly on my Earth Cache log, that I am a bit worried about the backdoor entrance at the moment, what with bit's of wood looking to be propping up the rock up above. Whether or not it actually is helping, I don't know. But I wouldn't want anyone to accidentally kick it out and find out for sure. I know DP are aware and are looking to do some work on the entrance, so it's just a temporary worry.
It looks like you had a great time - I wish I could have been in on it.
How is the 5th Oct looking for you? That's the next date in planning for myself and some others.
But please everyone don't wait for me, especially as I have little free time at the moment and I need to get planning a more normal caching event soon. Please feel free to use the board to organise other get togethers for some of these caches, or others. Hippo's was mentioned again whilst doing some of these.
I'm hoping to put in an appearance on the 5th. In the meanwhile I went through Backdoor on Monday morning having been warned the ceiling on the crawl has dropped. It looks bad, but I know there are plans in hand for a local group to do some maintenance to make sure it stays where it is and to make it safe again.
You know about the entrance issues, so that's good. I could do with getting a bit thinner, but being in a collapse there wouldn't be my first choice method It would be good to meet up with you then if the date works for all.
Here are just a few photos taken from Rosie's collection of the day out. I am not labelling from which BA, if they were from one, they are from so as not to give direct spoilers.
So where are we going then xJ? Reading from the route out to the rest of us.
Not on the original route, but during one cache the party split and xJ took some of them this way whilst other followed me out another. This is Rosie being squeezed.
Why are we doing this tunnel again?! xJ's face says it all.

Hi Everyone I'm glad the mini event went so well and loved reading the cache logs. They have made the work BareClawz and I did more than worthwhile. The photos are brilliant and strange as it may sound, my first sight of the caches. BareClawz helped create the new or revised caches with help from 'The Caretaker' who had been wanting to have an input for quite a while. So a few emails and suggested places were proposed and he not only obliged but improved massively on the suggestions. He initially removed the containers, cleaned them up restored them where necessary and placed them in the new locations. So the creation of the caches was done remotely and neither of us visited the quarries at the time, both being in Weston Super Mare working. I have yet to create an entirely new Below Above, but with help from my mentor I have got all the programs needed in my lappy. So it's a matter of some planning and as we have a month, just maybe one can be launched on 5th October. Thanks for the support yopu've given BareClawz, the Below Above series and myself. Long may it continue.
