Farleigh Down Sidings are a remnant of what once was. Originally the mile and quarter long tunnel was the 'secret' link to carry ammunition to Monkton Farleigh Mine where it was stored during WW2. When Restore took Morkton Farleigh over for secure document storage they neeeded to make their area secure and hence the block and steel plated wall at the the of FDS. There are tales and YouTube videos of people riding the conveyor belt down the slope to the storage sidings at the bottom. Since it ceased being a connection to Monkton Farleigh the place has been very neglected and abused. But almost ever caver/mine explorer has done the mile and quarter walk to the wall and back down, in most cases once was enough lol. When BareClawz placed Above Below - The Steps there the area was a little cleaner, but as technically it's private property he couldn't actually tell people to go there and his way round it was to tell people NOT to go there. Many people did and enjoyed exploring the passage.

I don't know the blokes name but it's owned by the person who's doing all the landscaping around the immediate area. There were rumours he wanted to level the area and demolish the platform, slope shaft and the marshaling area at the bottom. By the look of things the concrete defeated his digger lol. What the future holds for FDS nobody knows
Ok, this is random, anyone mind my b'day cake that's coming to the event not being Chocolate? I can't eat the stuff so coming up with some other ideas for Kate.
If anyone who's coming can message me, I'll update the list on the first post. Also kindly vote for your preferred cake and also proffered Below Above caches you'd like to do. I can't vote for that one but I'll probably tag along on some
My favourite cake - a rich fruity Christmas type or a Victorian sponge with fresh cream & raspberry jam or rich deep chocolate or apple & sultana or ............
Will attend bar any major unforeseen circumstances.
I have three BA caches currently not found, so those would be my preference, The Great Rift, Gruidae, and Mega Breakfast. I don't know that I have a fav cake, I eat anything, which isn't really helping me get in the right kind of shape for a couple of very tight squeeze caches in the area

I would like to think that me and up to 2 kids will be coming. Over time has dried up so definitely me but dancing will have started so that wil probably rule out the girls and haven't checked the football fixtures for the boy yet. As for cake I like that one that comes in either the glass or tin cylindrical baking cases. Can't remember the name.
Sorry to keep mentioning it but my vote goes for any of them that don't have too tight a squeeze. I don't mind the dark or some climbs or drops but really not good with tight spaces that restrict arm and leg movement.
Assuming The Janitor's Blither will be released on the 5th October I'll tell you it's set in Brown's. As there probably won't be time for people to decipher the route as long as anyone can tell me or BareClawz the keyword then a decipher of the route will be available. For TarmacJohn once through the famous Muddy Hole which is a crawl then the rest of the route is easy going, very easy. With mainly large main passages. If Brian The Caretaker is there then he can either give people a tour or guide anyone who hasn't done Don't Drink The Water and A Tour Of Brown's to those. There are 6 clues to Mega Breakfast in Brown's as well. I'd like to see Mega found as so far only one team has done it. It's feeling neglected :'-) Your choice though
