Made the sign for just a bit of silliness, though I am sure many would agree there is some truth in it. But is there anything for real you wish someone had told you before you started out geocaching or just when you were making your first finds?
More seriously: Go for 365 caching days in a row while you have lots of unfound caches close to home.
Along the same lines: DON'T rush out after ALL the local caches.
Keep 'em for Distance in a day. Find away from home, find one near home at the end of day. Counties in a day, find one back at home to get another county found...

The Somerset well rounded cacher and other challenge types that you have to register interest before you can start. Someone should email all newbs about stuff like this!
