I think we should do a poll first: will you take part in the CCotY vote? If only five of us say yes then I'd question the value of CCotY.
Good idea ;D
Thank you for your comments. I really need an early night this night, but I will put a will you take part poll up before I hit the sack. I can see it makes sense to.
Feel free to keep ideas coming, and thank you for the thoughts so far.
I have only found a few of the cccc caches around the start finish. I did like the location of the penultimate one of the ring, there was a railway bridge / tunnel near by with old rolling stock stored under it. I haven't looked closely to see if it is in the boundaries, it looks close.
6 people voted on the poll. 1 was myself. We will go ahead with it.
Will still take nominations on here and by pm today. If I say only published by beginning of July last year, is everyone ok with that? We will see what is put forward.
If not many are nominated we can use the top posters' favourited caches. cx6, if you are able to help gather / find some of those, that would help. If not, the weekend is coming up and I should have some time to manually sift through some.

I'll update the list I produced previously to restrict to Cotswold caches and to indicate the date placed.
Thank you very much, that helps me. I see you have started on that. I looked at a few of the list a bit more closely at lunch time today, I think the published by date may well chop the list down somewhat.
After all that, I don't think it's the way to go. The list is too short. If we've got six people voting then let's do as you suggested all along and just get them to post their nominations here. I'll think about mine ...
Oh, it looks Griff Groff's thoughts were in tune with the actual. Unless there are hidden gems out there that none of us have found yet and favourited maybe?
Anyway, thank you for the effort you have put in cx6. If anything, it gives me ideas for next year possibly about how to do things for other awards, for example "Best Cache of All Time", and others. But with the group only just starting up I think doing other awards would be too much too soon this year, and so will just stick to this one.
When I saw this one published I didn't pay a lot of attention to it, thinking it was in an area of Swindon which didn't have such a pull on me to go visit. When I read it properly yesterday and realised it was just a few miles north of me I changed my mind and went to have a look, and was very glad I did.
Still not a long list to vote on. Any others anyone wants to note? Otherwise I will add a few more to the few on the list already and put up for voting to start on tomorrow night. A few days later than I intended, I know.
Unless you're receiving suggestions by PM, this is a crap turnout. Six people said they'd play: two have made visible nominations. As board admin, can't you find out who those other four were and hound encourage them to participate as they said they would?

Good idea!
I haven't made another nomination, because I've added Starman and Elder Statesman in the second post on this thread, so didn't think there was any point posting it again?
Griff Groff - Do you have any caches you'd like to put forward that were published from July last year. I think those two, although many people seem to say that they are great caches, are quite old placed ones?
