Okay, so far we have the following people up for this and the areas they’ve said they’ll cover are: -
• tarmacjohn – north of county
• walktall – north east of county
• Gackt - 10 mile radius of Cirencester
• Higster – area/locations not specified
• Griff Grof - area/locations not specified
• Yorkshire Yellow – Stroud Valleys, Severn Vale and southern end of the county.
If Higster and Griff Grof can volunteer some general areas/locations they’d prefer to cover, please, that’d be good.
If we can, we ought to include Cheltenham, Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.
If we all aim to place four or five caches, then that’s manageable.
My thought on the listing page is that someone who’s better at creating them than me, particularly when they include images and the like, could put together a ‘template’.
‘Cache placed by’ could be ‘Gloucestershire A-Z team’ or something similar.
The bonus location perhaps ought to be in the approximate centre of the county, if we could work that out.
I’ve uploaded the A-Z list of locations to a sharing Dropbox, along with a basic spreadsheet showing place name, cacher who will place the cache there, cache type and approx. coordinates (so that I can keep tabs on there being an adequate spread/coverage of the County). If you can all PM me your email address I’ll send you the link inviting you to access the folder, so you can access the documents and anything else we want to put in there (such as the listing page 'template'). .
How does all of this sound to you? I think that’s about all from me for now.
After the weekend I'm away to Cornwall for a week and then on child minding duties for another week, so may not have the time or opportunity to much on this 'til the start of August.
Jack's Green east of Painswick Jackdaws Castle east of Ford Vinegar Hill north of Stonehouse Virgin's Corner Wood south of Uley Chapman's Cross at 51°42.896'N, 2°05.412'W Dursley Cross south of May Hill
higster- are both retired living in South Gloucestershire so able to fit in with any requirement. Is South Gloucestershire part of the A-Z Mileage for us is not a problem, we have two series of caches down in Yeovil which we maintain on a regular basis
Xavier Petulengro's Grave, All Saints Church, Viney Hill near Lydney in Forest of Dean.
"Xavier Petulengro (25 December 1859 - 16 June 1957), more often known as Gipsy Petulengro (or Gypsy Petulengro), was a British Romanichal horse trader, violinist, businessman, writer and broadcaster, known as the "King of the Gypsies". He frequently broadcast on BBC radio in the 1930s and 1940s, and later wrote regular astrology columns in magazines as well as publishing his autobiography and several books on Romani lore."
The poor guy was 2 years, 6 months and 9 days off his 100th Birthday when he died, and back then that was something!

I think it's time for me to pick this back up again.
What I want to do is to start a new thread.
On the first post I suggest we have a list which will have: -
* Letter of alphabet * Location/place name * Cache setter's name
Folks can post on this thread which four or five locations they'd like to take care of, and I'll update the list going forward so we can track where we're at as things progress.
I'll also do a map on which the general locations people have decided to place caches at are shown, so that we can make sure there's a decent spread around the county.
