Thought it would be good to start a thread for discussing the next event: Sunday, September 13th - the day before my birthday, so hope it will be a good one
I might be able to organise something, but it's looking more likely that CC #6 will be one by me since I'm organising another event for September already. I'll have a think over the next few days to see if I will be able to have the time to do this one as well.
Would anyone else be able to organise it just in case?
And do we have any early ideas with regards to the venue? I suppose it'll come down to the location of the host
Yes it is in Gloucestershire, but it's a stone throw from Malmesbury and the Wiltshire border, it has 232 geocaches within a 5 miles radius of it, it's local and part of a 37 cache loop series (12 miles I think) on it's door step and 2 geocaches so close to it, you could grab them on getting an ice cream and be back in before it's either eaten or melted!
Being September, the pub might be able to have us sat outside or inside, and they welcome dogs and muddy boots!
I don't know that one, but from the link it looks good. If you'd be up to organising that one then I would be more than happy for you to And of course I will be happy to help with anything, though these are meant to be just meet 'n' greets so shouldn't need to do too much.
Let me know for sure in the next couple of weeks. If not this one, then the next one will plan to do up north of the Cotswolds as we haven't ventured far north yet.
I'll pop in to see them and explain the idea of what Geocaching is and give them an idea of possible numbers. I'll try and do that in next few days and get it published ASAP.
Little update; Popped in this afternoon and had a chat with the two people behind the bar, nothing on the books at present for 13th Sep, but got to give a lady a call tomorrow and double check.
Loads of people sat outside and the pub is huge with space and tables for people to sit at and drink. Eat wise I got told Kitchen can shut at 3 on Sundays, but I was wondering what times would it be best for the event? Allowing people to go off and cache and come back and have a bite to eat if they want? Times for food are 12:00-16:00 18:30-21:30
Also numbers of people, I know 24 caching names on page for #4, so about 30-40 people at event previously. Just ideas to shoot back tomorrow.
I'll also have a few new caches published locally on the day or weekend.
Yes very busy but it died down after 3, plus most people outside when we were there.
UPDATE
I can confirm all sorted with pub, they are looking forward to it after explaining who we were AND I've actually gotten around to start the publishing of some new caches!
